Asos turtleneck and loafers, Forever 21 jacket and jeans, secondhand belt

What I wore yesterday. Remind me to buy myself several, and by several I mean a ton, more mod sixties structured turtleneck stuff. I don't even mind them on a shift dress--that is how much I love turtlenecks.

white on white

vintage slip, secondhand button-down, Asos sandals, handmade bag, Forever 21 jewelry and sunglasses

As we were strolling down the boulevard in Rowland Heights not too long ago, we came across a strip of grassy lawn and goodness; to our utter disbelief, three palms reigned supreme at the point of eye-graze. And  so, my longing for an escape to an oasis became partly true. I was glad to have been wearing white on white on white. It alleviated the scorching heat that stifled the valley. I think it might be time to go a shade darker on my hay-like strands again, unless anyone has an alternative to ineffective color-retaining shampoos.

Almost everything's over. Now I will begin reading My Antonia with attention.

a tee a day makes...

Levi's jeans, secondhand tee, Cassandra Ray shoes, girls' scout belt, friends' ring and necklace

It's been a week since my last post; I'm so deprived of my blog! It feels good to actually type into this compose block again. My beautiful friend lent me her bird--I mean, her necklace, today. Isn't it so trendy? Isn't she of such elevated taste? Didn't I just use such effective anaphora? (Blogger would mark anaphora as a word that does not exist.) Another great, smize-ing friend gave me this ring, and I absolutely love it! I stopped by the thrift store today and picked up a few silk slip dresses in cream for summer, a white sequin tank from the sixties, and a loose silk crepe blouse in nude. I'm really feeling the lighter colors as the temperatures rise, despite my long-term relationship with Poetic Black. Oh, and Penn Badgley in The Stepfather is ten billion times better than Penn as Dan Humphrey right now. Why don't you just die? Forever 21 printed jeans, button down, handmade clutch, gifted necklace, secondhand heels

Always resorting to my trusty handmade clutch. It's oversize vinyl modeled after A.A.'s cult sack that I unfortunately cannot afford, but $7 worth of material? Indeed worth mass-producing, if not worth the eye strain. Yes, I recently acquired a fresh bottle of marigold Lutein and a corresponding one of Bilberry for eye and vision care, yum . . . not. I was running out for a moment there. Strangely windy today. I've got brainstorming in my mind to clutter and fill and drown out all remnants of that spring of A.P. testing. Brainstorming of all sorts of fancies, like Violet Ell-like shoots of, hopefully, one of my friends, and visiting Hobby Lobby for the first time, and of various unicorn shapes I'd love to contort my kneaded eraser into.

Asos shoes, secondhand cardigan, vintage dress, old necklaces

I'm really loving my loafers right now. And when the white sole and siding gets crummy, I'll break out my cheese cloth, Mod Podge, silver glitter, and rhinestones, so that my long-suppressed crafty hands will have their fun at mimicking Valentino's embellished sandal heels. The skies call out their wishes for windy, wanton havoc, and I respond with my hot glue gun. Lookbook :: Chictopia :: Pinterest :: Tumblr :: Twitter :: Etsy :: Bloglovin'

vintage sleeveless button-down, Forever 21 cardigan, H&M shorts, Jeffrey Campbell shoes, market bag

I got this unique bag from an open stand in a Chinese market place quite a number of years ago. In fact, it's been about seven years since I've attained it, but the odd-ish shape prevents it from becoming truly utilitarian. I wish I could present its rich texture a bit better. It's like its own pure-breed of microfiber suede-velvet, with subtle indentations of gilt every so often. Running your fingers across its surface is quite the delightful journey. I have been thinking of naming it in due time.

knotted

Forever 21 shorts, secondhand top

Do you remember this wall? Well, wink wink, it's turning out to be much too bright towards the center of our empty yard. Even the lens hood wasn't working, so here I am, back to the Wall! I knotted my button-down for a more fifties nostalgic feel, and I especially like the cuffed short sleeves, much like Deborah Kerr's famed looks. Strawberry and kiwi flavor combo works all summer, and it's much needed for someone who's  trying hard to change her lifestyle. In words of Wordsworth, I am taking the road less traveled, the road of potentially zero processed foods. One step at a time, I tell myself, so that in the near future I'll be even more of a healthy foods lover.

aqua tights

Forever 21 top and shorts, secondhand heels

i felt like Blair Waldorf, first season, as i rolled my colored tights on this morning. of course, Queen B. would  pair these tights with something more colorful, probably bright green pumps and a yellow wool mod coat. not anymore though; Lonely Boy made her tacky and . . . what was she wearing in this week's episode? that revolting floor-length puff-ball of hot pink that D. claimed was a "princess" gown? NO.

dear writers and stylists of Gossip Girl,

can you please make this show as great as it was in its first two years of vivacious life? much appreciated if you do, but if you don't, you'll lose two of your most dedicated viewers. chuck you. ;)

you know you love me. xoxo,

clash of the prints

Forever 21 jeans and collar, vintage blouse, secondhand belt, Deena & Ozzy shoes

it's a clash of the prints. i meant to take a close-up of the prints, but i'll simply tell you that i mixed polka dots with a sort of tapestry that precisely evokes "The Yellow Wallpaper" we're studying now. i'm quite unwilling to mix prints, but Minnie's post on clashing sort of inspired me as a call of action. of course, i wouldn't stray too far away from the two-tonal color palette, definitely not those on opposing sides of the color wheel, but hues of purple and black really do well to be harmonious. i enjoy stubbornly sticking with collared button-downs and such in drab, monotonous colors like camel, beige, tan, white, navy, and black, but spring really doesn't allow one to wear workplace tones, does it? oh, and i've never watched the recent Clash of the Titans, only the 1981 original. only because i have a little penchant for Claire Bloom and Lawrence Olivier.

my friend did my nails oh, so fetch.

H&M t-shirt, BDG jeans, Forever 21 jacket, Jeffrey Campbell shoes

happy Easter weekend, guys! i have such a strong urge to go fetch pastel plastic eggs on that grassy lawn strewn with transparent basket filler that we all know so well from our childhood days.

p.s. anyone know any inexpensive paces to buy coated and printed skinny jeans? i'd love if you helped me!
