Basic Canvas

Jacket: Asos// Tee: Zara// Shorts: local store// Necklace: Swarovski// Ring: Bershka// Booties: Giles for Nine West// Sunnies: c/o Ana Jeffrey

++

Just because it's a basic piece, doesn't mean it's not hard to choose outfits. In fact, the problem is that it goes with everything, so that whenever you think you've decided on one outfit, another piece or idea puts you completely off track again.

This jacket was the cherry on top of my April purchases. I was so excited to have it, so when it did not come on time, I emailed Asos immediately. Turns out it was just held in customs for a while (must be all those studs, they must have thought it was a concealed weapon). I paired it with everything - brights, pastels, shorts, skirts etc etc. - before Nicole from Gary Pepper gave me a really good idea, all white to make the standout piece really pop!

Ain't it just the perfect canvas for such a special jacket?? And it's not boring, which is cool. Right now, I am so obsessed with it that I've been wearing it daily (check my instagram to see what I mean). It's light enough not to be stuffy on warm days, and warm enough to be okay for those cold and rainy nights. The best transitional piece for erratic, abnormal Macau climate.

Anyways, I've been having an epiphany lately. Life is not all well and good because once again, one of my closest friends has decided that she would rather believe someone else's gossip (and then make a public attack) that I had done something bad instead of trusting me and asking me directly about it. We have not talked in a while, and quite frankly, I don't know if I still want to. The whole thing is so highschool drama it's ridiculous! I really do not want to go back there because it was the worse four years of my existence. Do you know how much I've done to get out of there? See FAB for a little example, and I don't think one person should be able to just revert me back and make me start over. I have this feeling nowadays that I'd rather have three people around that trust me and love me for everything - not just a select few attributes - and won't just pull a 360 everytime they get a piece of nasty gossip, than a hundred friends who only like me occasionally and within reason.

Whew...I know that is a large chip on my shoulder I have just released. But it's been there a while and you all know there's nowhere else I'd rather spill. Thank you for always listening.

See you soon,

- Che

Myth Conception

Jumper: Myth Conception |  Dress: Zara |  Bag: Zara |  Flats: Kmart |  Glasses: South Korea

Hey Lovelies,

A few days ago Melbourne had the nicest weather in a while. The days were 24-26 degrees celsius and lovely!

Rgum left this tribal jumper in my car after ballet class, so I've had the pleasure of wearing it until next time we see each other/when I'm not wearing it!

I've been wearing the f!@# out of it.

I've got two more weeks of uni and then a lovely 9 week holiday from officially using my brain! I can't wait.

Hope you're all doing well!

A Matter of Shape and Taste

Jumper: Taobao// Tee: Zara// Bag: Zara// Heels: local store// Bracelets: Forever 21// Sunnies: Ana Jeffrey

++

Yep. It's one of those pieces that you will either appreciate or not. First time I put this jumper on, I hated it. It felt so bad to spend 20 USD on something I may never wear. I thought the site I bought it from put up a fake advertisement because on the model it looked slimmer and shorter.

Then I wore it again. It was comfy, and the fit gave a slouchy, je ne sais quoi quality to my outfit. A lot of people I met in this outfit  (even my colleague who helped me place the order on Taobao) complimented me on it. Said colleague placed an order for the same one the same day =) I am still a little on the fence tho. The leg area does seem pretty big but making it tighter will affect the shape...I am considering making it into a skirt jumper, but I will wait on your opinions. Should I alter this into a skirt or leave it as is??

I am so damn tired nowadays. I've been night shift for five days...and had the flu at the same time. Medicine just made me drowsy. I think I stumbled home the fourth day because when I woke up five hours later, I was in bed and forgot how I got there. Hehehe.....but good news is, one of the major details of my upcoming vacation has been completed! Now all I have to worry about are some minor things - and my vacation wardrobe! Tee hee...I think this jumper is definitely coming with me.

So see you in better times,

Like Water

Sweater: gifted// Skirt: Ximending St. Taiwan// Boots: Bershka// Bag: local store

Not just the skirt, but the outfit. Usually I like to keep it proportioned with my outfits. If the top part is fitted, then the bottom will be loose, and vice versa. But on this day I went for something different entirely, and for good reason.

Leon and I decided to treat the whole family out for a buffet dinner at Festiva in Galaxy Hotel. I told myself I wasn't going to eat much the whole day to prepare - and so I didn't. So imagine how hungry I was by eight thirty that evening? Hahaha...hence loose layers...because I don't wanna look like I don't fit in my clothes after two hours of pigging out! But jokes aside, This is one of the most comfortable outfits I've worn - no jewelry, no fuss - everything was flowing - like water =)

Anyways, guess where I am right now? Actually I took a quick trip and found myself once again in Leon's China hometown. Just the place to de-stress and do as I please. So for now I leave you with this because we're going out to explore right now, see you soon,

At Least I'm in a Jacket

Shorts & boots: Bershka// Shirt: Michelle Stuart (vintage)// Jacket: local store// Rings: Bershka

Sunny days in Macao are a small privilege. Either you reach it, or you don't - and if not, then the best thing to do is grin and bear it. In the wise words of Tallahassee (Zombieland), time to nod up or shut up. Do you wanna see how cold I actually was? Scroll down sweeties =)

But heck, I was feeling these bright new tie-dye shorts, so bite me. Haha...they will be perfect for this summer, when the sun actually becomes a main character rather than just an extra.

Anyways, it was my day off, hallelujah!, so pictures + shopping + hangout + dinner. We decided on Talay Thai Restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf A.K.A. Macao's almost ghost town. It was literally empty until we reached the lively place. We gorged on delicious Thai dishes like Tom Yum soup, shrimp cakes, pineapple fried rice and Pinacolada (which is not Thai but they made really awesome pinacolada). Then I stocked up on makeup because I realized my job required really a lot of makeup, and finally had a Starbucks.

Rain and shivery cold weather doesn't let this girl down! But I really would like to see warmer days.

One note: these shoes are fantastic! I so love their toughness and wearability - jeans, skirt, dress...you will see them with everything soon =) So , see you soon,

Hello Sunshine!

As the weather has been warming up, I've come out of hibernation and begun to soak up the sunshine I am guaranteed as a Southern Californian. It felt like the first time since autumn that my legs have seen the light! I spent my day off visiting Balboa Park wandering through gardens and museums so I opted for some tribal oxfords, a comfortable jersey dress, and a convertible tote bag. I especially love this nylon purse for an outing because it's incredibly lightweight and has a convenient shoulder strap. Plus, it's easy to clean, so I don't have to be as careful with it as I would with, say, a leather one.

My grandparents are visiting from Hong Kong so I took them to the park and my grandpa made a new friend! And, just in case you're wondering, no, unfortunately my 85-yr-old grandpa did not take any of my photos ;P

Wonder Woman

Tee: Pull & Bear// Jeans: Cantwo// Boots: Mana// Bag: MNG

Another grey tee with a print? Yes please. It's just my thing, I suppose. This time, Wonder Woman is the theme, and I think I went all out with the outfit. Navy, red, cuff, boots...Haha, I can just go nuts sometimes!

Sorry it took so long, but Leon and I had different shifts again. I guess this will be normal here nowadays...sometimes posts will be few and far between. Sigh...but there will be a post soon - because I went splurge shopping to the max and I can't wait to show you - so next time!

In a Bad Mood

Tee: J Crew// Jeans: Oasis// Jacket: local store// Bag: Esprit// Hardware: assorted See that scowl on my face? That's a real scowl. Though I am not a particularly angry person, I am human, and sometimes can be a little moody. Gosh, don't you just hate mood swings? How you can be so angry sometimes even when there is nothing to be angry about? I have to just sit still, take deep breaths and stay calm, or else I'll go into a fit.

But on the bright side, my best friend has just come back from the Philippines - where she's been staying since the end of highschool. She will be here for six months! Yep, that's something to look forward to for the summer months to come! Till next time sweeties, - Che

Homies

Wassup homies?? As a personal style blogger, I think it's important not to take the concept of 'fashion' too seriously. Although I support CFDA and am a proponent of protecting original design against blatant knockoffs and such, I don't find anything wrong with having a sense of humor. That's why I had to buy this HOMIES tee, inspired, of course, by the well-known HERMÈS logo. I am so obsessed with this comfortable & chic cotton tee that I want you to have one too!

Enter  promo code SHOP247 before checkout (in the memo section) to get 15% off your purchase! FYI, I am not receiving any commission on any sale(s) made. I just wanted to share a recent purchase I loved, and the seller was willing to give my readers a special discount :) The t-shirts are unisex, so I got mine in size small and it fits me perfectly. You can get each design in a variety of colors as well. Shipping was extremely fast for me since they are located in California. *Click here to see more colors, designs, & sizes in their eBay store*     Here are some more photos from my San Francisco trip with my good friend Ellen of Mint Green Submarine:
